The Ohio State University-Mount Carmel Health Obstetrics/Gynecology Residency Program thoroughly prepares residents for active participation in all aspects of medical practice. Residents are encouraged to develop personal and professional responsibility and autonomy while being guided to success by caring, experienced faculty. What follows are specific highlights of our program:

  • Residents are taught all operative skills required by the Residency Review Committee (RRC) and American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG), including all general OB/GYN procedures, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, colposcopy, urodynamics, radical pelvic surgery, ultrasonography, and others
  • Ultrasonography and colposcopy teaching and supervision
  • Ambulatory training in general and subspecialty obstetrics and gynecology, as well as primary care
  • Weekly lectures and monthly journal club
  • Two-week board review course for PGY-4s
  • 3-4 months per year at Mount Carmel Health, a private hospital with five other residencies (Family Practice, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, and Transitional Year)
  • Robotic gynecologic surgery at Mount Carmel West
