Internal Medicine Residency Program to Implement Schwartz Rounds

Congratulations to the Mount Carmel Internal Medicine Residency Program for being awarded a grant to implement Schwartz Rounds. According to the The Schwartz Center, the technique offers healthcare providers a regularly scheduled time during their fast-paced work lives to openly and honestly discuss the social and emotional issues they face in caring for patients and families. Providers who participate in Schwartz Rounds report improved teamwork skills, decreased feelings of stress and isolation, and often see changes to departmental or hospital-wide practices to benefit both patients and providers. Mount Carmel will become one of only 15 hospitals in Ohio to offer this valuable resource. Click here to learn more about the Schwartz Rounds. We look forward to the outcome of how this will positively impact our providers, residents and patients.
