  • Congratulations to Dr. David Banas, Associate Program Director and Medical Director of the Family Medicine Program. Dr. Banas has been asked to co-present a webinar on Transition of Care for the Ohio chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
  • Congratulations to Dr. Khanduja for being asked to present at the Ohio Valley Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons annual meeting. He will present "Patient Satisfaction with TPARM for Obstructed Defecation and Anal Incontinence."
  • Congratulations to Dr. Ben Vabi for being asked to present a poster at the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons 2018 ASCRS Annual Scientific Meeting. Dr. Vabi will present "Tell Me What I Need to Know: A Collaborative Approach to Improving MRI Report Quality for Rectal Cancer Staging." Congratulations to Dr. Dee Zitter, OB./GYN faculty, on being accepted to present "2nd stage Labor Management" at the AWHONN Annual Conference.
  • Dr. Raj Singh, Internal Medicine, has been asked to do a podium presentation at an upcoming ACP Conference in April 2018. Dr. Singh was already scheduled to present a poster at this conference on the project - "LEADER (Learning Expedited through Audiovisual Directed Education by Residents)." This project is focused on patient education on diabetes using iPads.
  • Congratulations to Dr. Kelsey Holskesvic and Dr. Kristen Duffy, Internal Medicine residents, for their presentation at the American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI) National Meeting in Washington D.C. They presented a project they worked on at Mount Carmel titled, "Ring Around The ROSEy: We All Fall Down." This project was presented at this past year's MCHS Research Day and discussed the application of the ROSE rule and obtaining orthostatic blood pressures in syncopal patients.
  • Dr. Jeff Otte and Dr. Kevin Klingele have recently authored a textbook chapter on pelvic ring avulsion fractures. Congratulations on this significant achievement in scholarly activity!
  • Congratulations to Dr. Perry Lin and Dr. Binay Eapen for having been accepted for a 90-minute workshop at the 2018 Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Annual Educational Conference. Their workshop is titled " Focusing on the WHOLE: Wellness and Humanistic Optimization Led through Education."
  • Congratulations to Dr. Tim Graham, Family Medicine Program Director, for being asked to present with the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) Graduate Medical Education Committee on "Navigating the Accreditation Landscape: Optimizing the STFM Residency Accreditation Toolkit at Program Directors Workshop" in the Spring of 2018.
  • In addition, Dr. Tim Graham and Dr. Christine Young have been asked to present at a one-day pre-conference at the STFM Annual Spring Conference titled "Faculty for Tomorrow Workshop." The presentation is aimed to prepare residents interested in academic careers for their career choice. Dr. Young will facilitate a session about work-life integration and Dr. Graham will facilitate a session about feedback. Both will also sit on expert panels answering resident questions about becoming faculty.
